Mellis Cricket Club’s ground is not in Mellis (but nearby). It can be found off the lane between Thornham Magna and Thornham Parva. Whilst the cricket ground is on the Thornham Estate it has its own entrance and access can not be gained any other way. Suggested Routes (check the map, there are alternatives) From Diss head south on the A140 (sign posted Ipswich) after approximately four miles turn right at the ‘Auberge’ Hotel (sign posted Thornham Parva, IP23 8BZ). Follow this lane until you reach a T-junction and then turn left (sign posted Thornham Magna). You will pass an entrance on your right to the Thornham Estate (IP23 8EY, a yellow sign saying ‘Walled Garden’) ignore this. The entrance to Mellis cricket ground is approximately 500 yards further on; at a bend in the road turn right down, a narrow gravel track between the trees that surround the ground. From Ipswich head north on the A140 (sign posted Norwich) after approximately 15 miles look out for the White Horse pub. You will need to take the second turning on the left after this by the ‘Auberge’ Hotel (sign posted Thornham Parva). Then follow the instructions as above.
